My ex-girlfriend put an intense amount of effort into her lowercase-ness.  Names and locations were capitalized, but never “I”s or the beginnings of sentences.  She also used singular quotes and ampersands.  This was a typical email:

Sam,

i just heard John Mayer’s ‘you’re body is a wonderland’ on the radio & thought of you.

I’m no longer doing samreich.com in all lowercase.  Originally it was a statement about the lack of effort I was going to put into it, but recently I’ve found myself scanning whole articles to make sure there are no uppercase letters, which isjust so trivial.  Plus I’m no longer ashamed to be putting effort into it.
